How It Works

How It Works

To set up your Wolf Stride System™, you’ll need at least one 6ft leash (sold separately). Additional shorter leashes (5ft, 4ft, 3ft) can be added depending on your preference and activity.

  1. Start with a 6ft Eco-Performance Leash (required).
  2. Turn the pack so straps face you and decide which side your dog will walk on.
  3. Thread the clip end of the leash through the bottom of your chosen shoulder strap.
  4. Continue weaving upward until you reach the neck area of the pack.
  5. Cross the leash through the neck area, thread down the opposite strap, and pull slack through.
  6. Feed the leash through the back padding channel and drop the clip through the metal ring on the opposite side.
  7. Attach the leash to your dog’s harness or collar and
    you’re ready to go hands-free.

Wolf Stride System™ — Safety Warning

  • Emergency Release Practice: Before using the system in public or busy environments, practice unclipping the leash from your side several times so you can release quickly in case of emergency.
  • Avoid Hazardous Situations: Do not use the system where accidental separation can occur — for example, entering elevators, subways, or trains where automatic doors may close between you and your dog. Serious injury or death could occur if your dog enters a vehicle or area before you and becomes trapped by a closing door.
  • Be Alert on Trails and Roads: Stay aware of surroundings, traffic, and wildlife. The hands-free design improves mobility, but you are responsible for maintaining control at all times.
  • Fit Check: Ensure all clips, buckles, and leashes are properly secured before every outing. Adjust to fit comfortably around your waist without excessive slack.

Pet Placemat

  • Placement: Position the placemat in a stable, low‑traffic area where it won’t obstruct walking paths. Avoid hallways and entryways.
  • Surface: Use only on flat, even surfaces to help prevent slipping. Do not place on stairs or uneven ground.
  • Elevation: The placemat is slightly raised to allow air circulation underneath, helping to prevent moisture, odors, and mold.
  • Monitoring: Be mindful when guests are present; remind others to watch their step around the feeding area.
  • Maintenance: Check placement and condition regularly. If it moves, curls, or shows wear, reposition or replace it.
  • Education: Inform family and visitors about the placemat’s location and its potential as a trip hazard.

Note: Always prioritize safety in your home. If the placemat poses a consistent hazard, consider alternate feeding solutions or locations.

Wolf Stride System™ FAQ

Wolf Stride System™ FAQ

Are Wolf Woman Essentials Products Safe for All Dogs?

Yes. Wolf Woman Essentials products are thoughtfully designed with the safety, comfort, and freedom of dogs in mind. We test each design to ensure durability, functionality, and responsible use on the trail and at home. However, as with all gear, we recommend supervising your dog
during the first few uses of any new product to ensure it meets their needs and
fits your lifestyle. Proper usage is key to both comfort and safety.

Can I use the Wolf Stride System with my own leash?

The system performs best with our Eco-Performance Leash. Its hardware and length are balanced for the backpack’s shoulder-load design. You can use other leashes, but the feel and weight distribution may vary.

What makes the Wolf Stride System different from a standard hands-free leash?

It’s the world’s first backpack engineered specifically for dog owners — not a leash that attaches to the waist. By using the integrated leash channels, it shifts your dog’s pull from the waist to the shoulders, giving you better posture, balance, and control on any terrain.

Is the Wolf Stride System waterproof?

The pack is made from waterproof materials —including a TPU-coated shell
and weather-resistant zippers — so it’s built to handle rain, mud, and snow. However, it’s not fully submersible; avoid placing it directly in water or leaving it in heavy downpours for long periods.

Does the Wolf Stride System fit all body types?

Yes. Adjustable shoulder, sternum, and hip straps allow a secure, comfortable fit for a wide range of body types. Tighten until the pack rests snugly and moves with you.

Is the leash included?

The leash is sold separately. Pair the backpack with any of our Eco-Performance Leashes to complete your Wolf Stride System setup.

Can I run or jog with it?

The Wolf Stride System™ is designed for balanced, hands-free movement — perfect for hiking, walking, training, and everyday adventures. Some users may find it comfortable for light jogging or short runs, though the system has not yet been tested for extended running sessions.

How do I attach the leash?

Thread the clip end of the leash up through the bottom of your chosen shoulder strap, cross it behind the neck of the pack, feed it down the opposite strap, and connect to your dog’s harness or collar — whichever you normally use for walks. (Full step-by-step instructions are in the 'How to Use'
tab.)

How should I clean the pack?

Wipe with a damp cloth and mild soap after each adventure. Let it air-dry completely before storing.

Is it safe for strong pullers or large breeds?

Yes. The Wolf Stride System has been tested with working and sporting breeds up to 120 lbs. For best results, ensure your dog is wearing a secure harness or well-fitted collar and check hardware before each use.

What accessories work with it?

Most Wolf Woman Essentials accessories — Waste Wranglers, Treat Pouch and Cell Phone Pouch — connect directly to the system for a seamless, modular setup.
